Basic Vascular Surgical Skill Hands - On Training Course (BVSST)
Basic Vascular Surgical Techniques workshop:
2 workshops were conducted in Chennai and one in Bangalore .Many young general surgeons enthusiastically came forward to hone their skills in suturing blood vessels
ENDOVASCULAR TRAINING:
Dr.Suresh and his untiring team conducted endovascular training courses in Mentis and in animals at the Ethicon Lab in Delhi. 18 doctors attended Module I and 8 doctors attended Module II. Dr.Suresh and his team, we believe would not stop till they train at least 100!!!
Live Hands on Training in Endovascular Technique was conducted in Stanley Hospital, Chennai by Prof M Rajkumar on 16 and 17 March, 2007. 13 doctors from various parts of Tamilnadu took active part. Prof. Rajkumar deserves full praise. He has shown that even in government set up one can conduct a training course.

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION OF THE CANDIDATES FOR FELLOWSHIP
- Age of the applicant up to 40 years – proof to be included along with the application
- Must be a full member of VSI – Date of Registration to be enclosed.
- Three years of Vascular surgery work in India is essential – a detailed curriculum vitae attested by competent authority to be enclosed.
- The candidate should not have any training in Vascular Surgery abroad earlier, for more than 6 months.
- He should not be a Professor of Vascular Surgery in any institution.
- Member who had independent practice in Vascular Surgery more than five years or senior full fledged Consultants in Vascular Surgery are noteligible to apply
- The applications containing the above particulars should reach the Secretary, Vascular Society of India. Before 30th September every year.
